How to Set WhatsApp as Your Default App

To make WhatsApp your go-to for calls and messages, follow these steps:

1. Update WhatsApp to the latest version via the App Store.
2. Open your iPhone’s Settings.
3. Navigate to “Apps” > “Default Apps.”
4. Select WhatsApp as your preferred app for calls, messaging, or both.

A New Apple Feature

This flexibility debuted with iOS 18.2. Initially, Apple rolled out the ability to choose default apps exclusively for users in the European Union, but it has since expanded globally.

Once WhatsApp is set as the default, your iPhone will automatically launch it instead of Apple’s native apps for placing calls or sending messages. This update enhances WhatsApp’s utility as a communication hub and broadens customization options for iOS devices.
