Apple to update the design of its cheap watches: What will they be like?

In 2025, Apple plans to introduce an updated version of its affordable Apple Watch SE watches. This was reported by well-known insider and Bloomberg correspondent Mark Gurman. In addition, updates are expected for the Apple Watch Series and Ultra models, which makes 2025 an important milestone in the development of the company's smartwatch line.

While Gurman did not reveal many details about the future Apple Watch SE model, he noted that the device will receive a new design. The first version of the Apple Watch SE, released in 2020, used the design of the Apple Watch Series 4 from 2018. Possible changes in 2025 could bring the watch closer to the appearance of the Apple Watch Series 7 or introduce an entirely new style. Among the supposed innovations is a plastic case, which may also be presented in bright color options.

Updates for more expensive models

While the Apple Watch SE will receive a new look, higher-end models such as the Apple Watch Series and Ultra will likely retain the current design. However, the functionality of these devices will be significantly expanded. The Apple Watch Ultra 3 is expected to support satellite communications and 5G RedCap, improving connectivity. In addition, the Apple Watch Series 11 and Ultra 3 may be equipped with a high blood pressure monitoring feature. Although the devices will not display exact pressure readings, they will be able to warn the user about possible hypertension problems, which is similar to the operation of the apnea detection feature.

This feature was originally planned for the Apple Watch Series 10, but its implementation was delayed due to the thin design of the watch. If the rumors are true, users will get a long-awaited improvement in functionality.

Simultaneous update of the entire lineup

If Apple does update all smartwatch models at the same time, this will be the first such event since 2022, when the Apple Watch SE 2, Apple Watch Series 8, and the original Ultra were introduced. Such a simultaneous update indicates the company's desire to strengthen its position in the smartwatch market and offer users devices with even more capabilities. While details remain under wraps for now, the upcoming updates promise to make 2025 a special year for Apple and tech fans.
