Canada has sued the American corporation Alphabet (which owns Google) over a dispute over online advertising. Ottawa claims that the technology giant is abusing its position in the online advertising market, the Canadian Competition Bureau reported.
“The Competition Bureau is suing Google for anti-competitive conduct in its online advertising technology services in Canada. After a thorough investigation, the Bureau has filed an application with the Competition Tribunal, seeking to correct [the company’s] conduct in the interests of Canadians,” the Bureau said in a statement.
Google is accused of abusing its position as the main provider of online advertising services in Canada and preventing other market players from competing on equal terms.
