Apple Watch will be able to measure blood pressure through a "smart" band

Apple has registered a patent for a smart watch belt that can measure a number of vital indicators, including blood pressure, Patently Apple website reports.

According to the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), the flexible belt can be used as a health monitoring tool, collecting data on the wearer's breathing rate, blood pressure and electrocardiogram to a device such as a smartwatch.

The patent description also mentions that such sensors could also be placed in a belt used to attach the Vision Pro mixed reality device.

In addition, it is said that the elastic material sensors can be used in other items of clothing, such as hats, gloves, shirts, pants, underwear and socks.Also, the smart band can be charged wirelessly, which Apple engineers say will make it easier its use.

It is noted that a total of 38 patents granted to Apple were published in USPTO in one day.
