The popular WhatsApp messenger now has widgets for iPhone users. This update will be available on all Apple devices running iOS 14 and later. This is reported by WABetaInfo website.
WhatsApp offers two types of widgets: Chatter and Calls. Each of them has two sizes: square (2x2) and rectangular (2x4). Up to two contacts can be pinned in the small widget, and up to four contacts in the larger widget. Widgets can be placed on the desktop next to other apps or in the widget stream available on the left side of the home screen.
This improvement will allow users to quickly access the contacts they need. In the chat widget, users will be able to add the most recent chat, as well as Favorites, Popular and Pinned. The widgets will update in real time, displaying 1's on the avatars if a new message has been received from the chat. Thus, without logging into the messenger, users will be able to see who has written to them and how many messages have been sent.
The Calls widget will allow users to pin the contacts of friends, family and anyone they call most often on WhatsApp. Clicking on a contact's avatar will automatically start a voice call. If desired, users will be able to turn on the camera.
WhatsApp is an American free instant messaging and voice communication service owned by Meta Corporation. The service's monthly audience exceeds 2 billion users worldwide.
