iPhone to get photo editing feature like Google Pixel

August 30, 2024  12:08

Apple has introduced a new feature called Clean Up in the third beta of iOS 18.1. This innovative tool, developed using Apple Intelligence technologies for the Photos app, allows users to remove unwanted objects from photos, MacRumors reports.

To remove an object, users can tap, circle, or paint over the desired area. Clean Up works best if the object is on a clean background and is small in size. When trying to remove large objects, such as a person in the foreground, artifacts may occur.

The Clean Up feature does not support Live Photos or work with videos, but it is available for all other types of images, including screenshots, old photos, and photos taken on other devices. Any changes made using this feature can be undone.

A similar feature called Magic Eraser has already been available on Google Pixel smartphones since 2021.
