Apple is developing foldable iPhone in the style of Galaxy Z Flip: It will be released in 2026

Apple is currently developing a foldable iPhone, which will be similar to the Galaxy Z Flip series smartphones, reports The Information, referring to two sources at once.

The device should be ready in 2026, by which time Apple will be preparing improvements to the camera and adding a variable aperture lens, which is already present in some flagship Android smartphones. The foldable iPhone will offer drastic changes.

Meanwhile, Apple is also working on a "significantly thinner" iPhone to be released next year. The slimmer design will reportedly mark the beginning of a "new class" of Apple devices, including thinner and lighter Apple Watches, MacBook Pro laptops and iPad tablets.

The Information notes that Apple did not respond to requests for comment.

Earlier, NEWS.am Tech reported that Apple has at least two prototypes of foldable iPhones, which it has been working on since 2018. The foldable iPhone is still in the early stages of development, so we shouldn't expect it to appear on the market in the near future. In addition, Apple is also developing a foldable iPad tablet, the development of which has started since it faced problems related to the creation of a foldable smartphone.
