Musk claims humanoid robots will be used in Tesla in 2025

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has announced that next year the company will produce "truly useful" humanoid robots that will work in its factories.

On his X page, Musk wrote that he also hopes to expand the production of humanoid robots and bring it to such a level that by 2026 they can already be sold to other companies.

Musk, who owns X and is also the head of SpaceX, has previously made bold claims about when the robot, called Optimus, will be ready for commercial use.

In 2021, Musk, whose fortune Forbes estimates at $250 billion, has said he expects the robot to be ready for use in Tesla factories next year.

At an event in 2022, Musk, who claimed Tesla's robot business would one day be worth more than his car business, showed off a prototype robot that walked on stage and waved to the audience.

Later, a video was shown showing the robot carrying boxes, watering plants and moving metal bars at the automaker's factory.

Musk has also previously said that his goal is to begin mass production of robots and that the cost of each one does not exceed $20,000.

The Optimus robot is about 1.7 meters tall and weighs 56 kg. It is designed to perform "boring, repetitive and dangerous" work.
