In the near future, Designer will be adding a "replace background" feature that will allow you to replace the background of images based on text prompts.

The web version of Designer supports more than 80 languages and is available as a free mobile app and as an app integrated into the Windows operating system. It includes “prompt templates” to help users begin the creative process. These templates can be customized and shared with other users.

Compatibility with other Microsoft products

Designer is compatible with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint via Copilot. Copilot Pro subscribers can create images directly in their workspace. The company also plans to add the ability to create banners for Word documents based on their content, which will greatly simplify the process of preparing documents and presentations.

Integration in Windows 11

Microsoft is also announcing deeper integration of Designer into Microsoft Photos, the photo app in Windows 11. Users will be able to use artificial intelligence to edit photos, remove objects, remove backgrounds, and auto-crop right within the Photos app.
