Instagram introduces "secret" Stories: What is it and how does it work?

May 6, 2024  10:20

Several new features have appeared on the Instagram social network, aimed at giving users more creative opportunities to share content and interact with each other. The new Reveal option will allow users to publish blurred Stories, which viewers will need to send the author a direct message to view. In addition, other features have been added that allow users to share favorite audio recordings and memories through "stories."

To create a "secret" story, you need to click on the sticker icon at the top of the interface and select the Reveal option. After that, the process of creating the story will begin, where, among other things, the author will be prompted to enter a text prompt about what content they are publishing. After publishing such a "secret" story, subscribers will be able to see its content only if they send the author a direct message.

The Reveal feature can be a good reason to start a conversation with someone among friends. At the same time, authors of such stories will be able to attract more attention to the published content. It is noted that the author of the "secret" story will not need to approve the disclosure of content for each incoming direct message from subscribers, so there is no need to worry that at some point you will have to view a huge number of incoming messages.

Developers have integrated a function to add your music to Stories into Instagram. This option will allow users to share songs that match their mood. Another innovation is the "Frames" function, which will turn photos added to Stories into Polaroid-style photos. What is captured in such photos will be hidden from subscribers. To view the photo, you will need to shake the device, or press the corresponding button if you do not want to shake the smartphone.
