What applications can be dangerous for smartphones?

Some applications may pose a risk to smartphones and the privacy of their owners. According to cybersecurity expert Alexey Raevsky, first of all, the danger is posed by those applications that request access to the microphone.

According to Raevsky, some applications that have completely “legal” access to the microphone can secretly save all recordings and actually spy on users.

“There were precedents when an application, which seems to be absolutely legally required to have access to the microphone, saved everything that was recorded. That is, you don’t expect anything bad from him. But it may well perform espionage functions,” the specialist noted.

According to him, it is impossible to accurately determine whether an application is using data for purposes other than its stated purpose. Therefore, the specialist recommends not installing unnecessary applications.

Raevsky also noted that modern smartphones are becoming less vulnerable to the installation of special bugs, since they are “miniaturized.” Compared to push-button phones, which have smaller electronics and more space, new smartphones are more difficult to disassemble and assemble in semi-makeshift conditions and put something in them.
