WhatsApp will get a new and useful feature

Developers of the WhatsApp messenger are planning to introduce a new feature – the ability to set a timer for the status, according to the WABetaInfo portal.

This update was discovered in the beta version of WhatsApp for iOS numbered 23.24.10.73, available for download through the TestFlight service. In this version, users will be able to set a timer for the automatic removal of information from their profile.

Users can choose the duration for which the information will be displayed – one day, three days, a week, or two weeks. After the selected time, for example, the standard information "Hello everyone! I am using WhatsApp" will disappear.

Such a feature could be useful, for instance, if you set the status to "On vacation" and set an appropriate timer. This would help avoid distracting messages and calls from colleagues.

Currently, profile information is set permanently and can only be changed or deleted manually. Apparently, with the introduction of timers, setting permanent information will no longer be possible.

At the moment, this new feature is only available in the beta version of WhatsApp, and the timeline for its rollout to all users remains unknown.
