Top 5 smartphones with the best screens: iPhone 15 Pro not included in the list

November 6, 2023  20:25

DxOMark experts tested the display of the new iPhone 15 Pro. The smartphone received 149 points, and in one of the most important disciplines (good readability) it even scored almost the maximum number of points. But, despite this, it could not get into the list of 5 smartphones with the best screens -- and took only sixth place.

The test found that the screen has good readability in various lighting conditions, high color saturation and effective performance management, but there were also some shortcomings.

In particular, there were problems with contrast when viewing HDR10 content, the presence of an orange skin tone in some pictures, and a low switching frequency. Interestingly, the iPhone 15 Pro scored the same as the iPhone 15 Pro Max, 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max.

At the same time, all flagship smartphones from Apple are inferior in quality to the displays of Honor Magic5 Pro, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 and Google Pixel 8 Pro. What was especially surprising was that the iPhone 15 Pro turned out to be of lower quality even compared to the much more affordable Pixel 8, which costs just $700. While the iPhone 15 Pro is offered at a price starting from $1000.

The top 5 smartphones with the best screens are as follows:

1. Google Pixel 8 Pro - 154 points
1. Google Pixel 8 - 154 points
3. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 - 152 points
4. Google Pixel Fold - 151 points
4. Honor Magic5 Pro – 151 points

The next place is shared by Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max, Apple iPhone 15 Pro, Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max, Apple iPhone 14 Pro and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 with 149 points each.
