WhatsApp will stop working on 16 Android devices below 4.1 released between 2011 and 2013. From October 24 this year, users of these outdated gadgets will no longer be able to use the popular messenger.
According to 91mobiles, the list of devices that will lose access to WhatsApp includes the following models:
These devices have stopped receiving updates since the release of Android 4.1 in 2012, making them incompatible with the latest versions of WhatsApp.
To continue using the messenger, owners of the listed devices need to purchase a new smartphone that supports Android 5.0 and newer versions of the operating system, or upgrade to devices running iOS 12 and higher, as well as KaiOS 2.5.0 and newer versions.
To check the version of Android on your device, you can open the settings, then go to the "About device" section and select "Software information", where you can find information about the version of Android installed on your gadget.
Support for outdated devices may be discontinued due to the fact that they are not able to provide secure and efficient operation of the messenger, and also limit the ability to introduce new features and updates.
