Telegram integrates TON Space cryptocurrency wallet: To whom will it be available?

Telegram messenger has integrated the TON Space cryptocurrency wallet based on the famous The Open Network technology. This integration will allow Telegram's nearly 800 million users to use a cryptocurrency wallet in the near future that can be easily configured within the app.

The open network developed by the Telegram team is, as you can guess from the name, a decentralized network of computers. Today, TON Space is available to Telegram Wallet users, and from November this feature will be available to all Telegram users worldwide. However, it should be noted that this feature may not be available in the US and some other countries where there are legal restrictions.

Telegram stopped the development of TON blockchain after two years of active work. One of the reasons was a lawsuit by the US Securities and Exchange Commission. The authorities believed that the initial offering of Gram cryptocurrency coins carried out by Telegram contained signs of securities. As a result, Telegram had to return all funds to investors and pay a fine of 18.5 million dollars. After that, the TON blockchain became an open source project supported by a community of enthusiasts.

In July of this year, the Wallet Pay service added the function to accept cryptocurrency payments to Telegram. Users can use Bitcoin and USDT stablecoins to transact through messenger bots. The move underscores Telegram's commitment to advancing cryptocurrency technology and providing its users with new opportunities for financial transactions.

Microsoft plans to integrate the Ethereum cryptocurrency wallet into the Edge browser.
