Baldur's Gate 3 will be released very soon: What is known about the size and requirements of the game?

The long-awaited fantasy RPG Baldur's Gate 3 is set to exit еarly аccess on August 3rd. Ahead of the release, game developer Larian Studios shared some fascinating details, including the size of the final build and the requirements to play in 4K resolution at 60fps.

As it turned out, the size of the full version of the game will be 122 GB.

Good news for Steam Deck owners: Baldur's Gate 3 will be supported on this platform at release, and the developers have even prepared optimal settings, including disabling split-screen mode. In addition, they promise the possibility of transferring progress between platforms and support for AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 technology by September 6th.

If you plan to enjoy 1440p/60fps gaming, a "good" CPU and GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card is enough. However, for uncompromising 4K gaming without the use of DLSS, the developers recommend using NVIDIA's flagship graphics cards such as the RTX 4080 or RTX 4090, or similar models from AMD.

The Larian Studios team also shared some gameplay details:

• Characters with a unique backstory will be able to enter into a romantic relationship not only with the player, but also with other heroes from the squad;
• It is impossible to have an affair with a partner in a cooperative session;
• It will be possible to view the history of the dialogue in the game;
• In cooperative sessions for four, the dialogue between two participants can be made private;
• Players will have the opportunity to redistribute skill points not only for their hero, but also for allied characters with a backstory;
• A hidden illithid skill tree will appear in the game.

Larian Studios is going to run an advertising campaign on the Twitch platform in honor of the release. Watching two hours of in-game streaming on partner Twitch Drops channels between August 3-17 will award a set of in-game items.

Baldur’s Gate 3 has been in Steam and GOG early access since October 2020, and the development of the game has taken even longer since 2017. Now, the number of sold copies of the game has almost reached 2 million.
