A recently purchased OnePlus Nord 3 smartphone exploded on the 5th day of use, causing an 8-year-old boy to lose his hearing. The boy's father announced this on his Twitter page.

The OnePlus Nord 3 smartphone was purchased from Amazon India on July 17 for 38,100 rupees (about $465). However, on the fifth day of use, the device suddenly exploded, seriously injuring an 8-year-old child: he not only lost his hearing, but also suffered psychological trauma.

According to the father of the injured child, he applied to the representative office of OnePlus in India; however, they wanted to take the smartphone from the company for the purpose of examination. However, the man did not give the smartphone, fearing that the company might destroy the evidence.

The company did not suggest to the victim's family what further steps should be taken, nor did it provide moral support.

The child's father has also filed a police complaint against the executives of OnePlus, Oppo and Amazon in India, hoping to get justice and protect his child's rights.

The man also reported that when he shared his story and complaints on Twitter, his account was suspended. In addition, he claims that OnePlus actively tried to cover up the incident.

Such incidents have happened quite often recently. For example, recently the OnePlus 8 Pro battery exploded next to the sleeping owner. The pillow absorbed the heat shock, and thanks to that, the owner of the phone was not hurt.

In April, an 8-year-old girl died because of the explosion of the Redmi Note 5 Pro smartphone.

In January of this year, a charged iPhone 4 caught fire in a house in Ohio, USA, while the whole family was sleeping. The camera installed in the kitchen recorded how the fire was extinguished immediately after it started. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
