Officially only available for macOS, Game Mode maximizes CPU power and reduces Bluetooth latency on Apple computers. Bringing this functionality to mobile devices is intended to meet the needs of mobile gamers, especially those with AirPods or Bluetooth controllers.

Despite the discovery of frameworks in iOS 17, it is not yet known if the game mode will appear on the iPad. Some experts also believe that Apple may leave the innovation as an exclusive feature only for its computers, since its presence in the iOS beta version does not guarantee inclusion in the final version.

It is expected that the full release of iOS 17 will take place in the fall of 2023. If Apple successfully implements Game Mode on mobile devices, it could make the iPhone and iPad more appealing to millions of gamers around the world.

New device for Apple TV

The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has issued patents to the company for an innovative device that is designed to control games on Apple TV, Patently Apple reported.

The patent represents a device with two modes of operation. The first mode is used to control the functions of the Apple TV, while the second is for playing video games. Switching between modes can be done physically by changing the position of certain parts of the controller.

The controller will be equipped with familiar buttons for volume control, menu navigation and action confirmation, as well as equipped with a stick similar to game console controllers. Depending on the mode of operation, the assignment of the keys may vary.

One of the design features of the device is its ability to fold in half or even split into two parts. This will allow you to change the location of the buttons during use.

At the moment, there is no information about when the device can be released to the market. However, the new game controller for Apple TV could be an interesting addition for gamers, expanding Apple TV's entertainment experience.
