Xiaomi introduces mosquito killing lamp that also counts number of mosquitoes killed

Xiaomi’s partner company Qiaolongting has introduced the QQ Smart Mosquito Killer lamp under the Mijia brand. The device not only kills mosquitoes, but also counts their number.

This device has a cylindrical shape with 18 LEDs. Also, it has a special ethereal oil container and diffuser, reports IT Home.

The LEDs and smell attract the insects to the bulb, which has a hot gold filament that kills them. According to the developers, this filament can work up to 10,000 hours without replacement.

In addition, the QQ Smart Mosquito Killer has a built-in screen that displays information about the selected operating mode and the number of mosquitoes killed.

The device syncs with smartphones via Wi-Fi, but it needs a mobile app to control the Mijia smart home. In this app, the user can set the working mode of the device, turn on or off its power supply, and get other information.

The QQ Smart Mosquito Killer is currently available for pre-order on the Xiaomi Youpin crowdfunding platform for 299 yuan (about $42). However, it is not yet known when it will be available in stores.
