Apple on Thursday released the iOS 16.5.1 and iPadOS 16.5.1, which are minor updates to the iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 released last September. The iOS 16.5.1 comes a month after Apple released the iOS 16.5.
The iOS 16.5.1 and iPadOS 16.5.1 can be downloaded to iPhones and iPads over Wi-Fi by going to Settings > General > Software update.
Apple said the update includes important security fixes and is recommended for all users.
Also, it fixes an issue that could prevent the Apple Lightning to USB 3 camera adapter from charging. Reports in May indicated that the camera adapter did not work with iPhones and iPads that received the iOS 16.5 and iPadOS 16.5 updates; the adapter could not charge the connected devices.
The company has also released the iOS 15.7.7 security update for iPhone users who cannot get the iOS 16 update.
In addition, Apple has released the second beta version of the iOS 17 for developers, and it can be downloaded by everyone.
