Meta plans to create an analogue of Twitter, as well as introduce generative artificial intelligence (AI) into all its platforms.

New Twitter?

Meta product director Chris Cox recently introduced a new application to the company's employees, which should become an analogue of Twitter.

As reported by The Wall Street Journal, referring to its own sources, the application, codenamed Project 92, will be launched on Instagram's base.

The company explained the decision to create such an application with the emergence of the need to create an "intelligently managed platform" in the background of everything that has been happening on Twitter recently. Although Elon Musk has handed over the management of the company to another specialist, Linda Yaccarino, as he promised earlier, some experts still fear that he will hardly be able to save the platform. Furthermore, the platform's logo and branding may change to an "X" instead of a blue bird.

Moreover, recently, many influential figures, including the Dalai Lama and American TV presenter Oprah Winfrey, have refused to use Twitter due to a number of ideological reasons.

The analogue of this platform, which has not been involved in any scandals, today has all the opportunities to attract a fairly large audience.

Generative AI in Meta

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg told colleagues at a corporate meeting that the company plans to bring AI-based text, photo and video generators to its flagship social platforms Facebook and Instagram.

One such technology to expect in the near future will allow users to edit their own photos based on a text description and then share them on Instagram Stories.

Another technology will allow to create several AI bots with different abilities and capabilities. They will be able to help or entertain users and will mainly be used on Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp.

Instagram can also integrate a chatbot that users can chat with and which will help with writing posts.
