The Chinese company BOE at the SID Display Week event showed the first TV with 16K resolution (15360 x 8640 pixels), which can display the image with a refresh rate of 60 Hz.

As reported by VideoCardz, the TV has a 110-inch (279 cm) screen. The full image, which can broadcast the TV matrix, has a resolution of 132 megapixels. Thus, the resolution of the novelty is 16 times higher than 4K or 64 times higher than Full HD (1080p).

The screen is based on an IPS-matrix, with 1200:1 contrast ratio. There is also support for 99% DCI-P3 color gamut and 400 nits of brightness.

It is not yet known when such televisions will be on sale and how much they will cost.

Journalist Vincent Teo, who saw the TV, said that he was extremely satisfied with the image quality of the novelty.

“Forget 8K. Here’s the world’s first 110-inch 16K display unveiled by BOE at #Displayweek2023. LCD-based, max 400 nits. The resolution is unreal though, no visible pixels even right up close,” he wrote on Twitter.
