For many, video games seem like a real evil, taking up precious time of teenagers and making them more aggressive. But there are actually games that are really useful and can increase the motivation to learn and explore new areas.

According to VK Play Media editor-in-chief Natalya Odintsova, there is a special term "edutainment" that combines education and entertainment.

"For example, the Kerbal Space Program's space simulator can inspire a person to become an aeronautical engineer. During the game, the player must control the alien space program, create spaceships based on the knowledge of the laws of aerodynamics (or lack thereof) and the physics of the movement of bodies in orbit. In the process, the player may develop an interest in the mathematics on which the entire game is built. Another gamer can be motivated by the desire to see projects implemented in the field of hardware," Odintsova said in an interview with Life.

She also finds games like the strategy game Crusader Kings 3 and the action-adventure game Assassin's Creed to be good and useful: these can develop young people's interest in learning history.

The puzzles of Portal 2, in turn, can arouse interest in physics, and The Tales of Bayun will allow you to immerse yourself in the morphology of a magical tale and read the works of the Soviet philologist Vladimir Propp.
