What professions could disappear because of AI-powered ChatGPT?

In the coming years, the famous ChatGPT chat-bot can replace people in a number of professions, among them the so-called "white collars" – office workers – occupy the first place.

The experts of the Business Insider website compiled a list of 10 popular professions that may disappear completely as a result of the development of neural networks. They include:

  • Programmers;
  • Journalists;
  • Legal advisors;
  • Marketers;
  • Teachers;
  • Financial analysts;
  • Traders;
  • Graphic designers;
  • Accountants;
  • Support service personnel.

A new study by Goldman Sachs has shown that artificial intelligence could one way or another replace 300 million workers worldwide in the coming years. Quite expectedly, this will lead to "significant problems" in the labor market.

However, not all experts share this view. McKinsey Global Institute partner Anu Madgavkar, for example, is sure that artificial intelligence can help at work, but it cannot replace people: artificial intelligence should be "taken care of" so that errors and biases can be avoided.

"We need to think of these tools as helpers, not as full replacements for the worker," Madgavkar said.
