The techno bloggers of the Russian website "Палач" have compiled a ranking of the eight worst Android smartphones under $250. Bloggers note that these are the smartphones that are not recommended to buy in 2023.

The list is headed by the Samsung Galaxy A03 Core, which, as mentioned, does not have any advantages. According to the authors, this budget device has a dim screen, weak processor, cameras and charger. Among other shortcomings, the presence of an outdated MicroUSB connector and the absence of an NFC module are mentioned. The only thing the smartphone can boast of is its decent autonomy.

The runner-up Vivo Y02 has similar specs with a few differences, which also helped it make it to this list.

The top three is rounded off by Wiko T3, which received an outdated MediaTek Helio P35 chip, HD matrix and slow 10W charging. This model also does not provide contactless payment due to the lack of an NFC chip. Among the advantages of the device are 4/128 GB memory and a 48-megapixel main camera, but this, as the authors note, does not cover the shortcomings of the smartphone.

ZTE Blade A72 came in fourth place. According to the website, at first glance it seems like a pretty good option to buy. The phone has a 90Hz FullHD display, 3/64GB of memory and a 6000mAh battery with 22.5W charging support. But the problem is that the Unisoc SC9863A processor power is not enough for even the most basic tasks. The Galaxy A03 Core also runs on the same chipset.

OnePlus Nord N20 SE, which according to the authors, is the worst device in the history of OnePlus, completes the top five of the rating list. In some characteristics, it is noticeably superior to its competitors. For example, it has stereo sound and a good 50 megapixel  main camera, 33 W fast charging support, which is not typical for phones in this segment. But the smartphone has the same problem as the previous ZTE – its performance is very poor.

In sixth place is the Oppo A55, which is similar in many ways to the Nord N20 SE, but has NFC and an interesting 16 megapixel frontal camera. However, the smartphone lacks stereo and 33W charging support. The processor is also the same.

The next phone on the list is the Honor X8 5G. The main problem of this device is the low-quality TFT screen with weak HD + resolution. The rest of the specifications are not bad, although this phone is not at all ahead of its competitors, on the contrary, it tries to catch up with them.

The last in the rating list is the Samsung Galaxy M23, which at one time was not bad compared to its price. But the authors note that it is really difficult to ignore such shortcomings as a dull TFT panel, poor photo capabilities and the lack of stereo sound. It is also mentioned that Galaxy M33 with better specifications is cheaper now, so buying Samsung Galaxy M23 is pointless.
