Google Chrome continues to be No. 1 web browser

December 3, 2024  14:18

Statcounter has released its November data on the use of web browsers.

According to statistics, Google Chrome continues to be the first, increasing its share to a record 66.31 percent; this is 1.09 percent more than in October and 4.25 percent more than last year.

In second place is Microsoft Edge, which can be called a close competitor of Google Chrome only conditionally, taking into account the huge difference between the two web browsers. Moreover, Edge's share fell from 13.56 to 12.8 percent last month, which corresponds to a decrease of 0.69 percentage points. If we compare it to November 2023 when Edge's share was 11.23 percent, it becomes clear how difficult it is to get users to switch from Chrome to other web browsers, despite Microsoft's active efforts to introduce Edge—and even using controversial methods.

Apple’s Safari, which increased its share by 0.07 percentage points in November—reaching 9.13 percent, remains stable in the third place.

Mozilla Firefox improved its position slightly, occupying 6.45 percent of the market (+0.06 percentage points).

And the top five is rounded up by Opera, with a 2.81 percent less share than last month.

Current breakdown of the web browser market segments is as follows:

Google Chrome: 66.31% (+1.09 percentage points)

Microsoft Edge: 12.87% (-0.69)

Apple Safari: 9.13% (+0.07)

Mozilla Firefox: 6.45% (+0.06)

Opera: 2.81% (-0.39)
