Since the beginning of autumn, owners of AirPods Pro 2 have begun to hear a strange sound from the headphones, which is not typical for this model. This is a self-diagnostic function, which Apple did not immediately notify users about, reports the iPhones.ru website.
This sound was first noticed in September, but many users did not immediately pay attention to it or thought that it was just a dream. However, it later turned out that the headphones really do make a strange sound, which can be heard when they are in the case and simply on the table.
This sound has nothing to do with the familiar notifications of charging or searching for a device via Find My and comes directly from the earphones. The pitch and duration of the sound can vary, which makes it even more mysterious.
The cause of this sound was unknown until mid-November, when Apple explained that the AirPods Pro 2 had started self-diagnostics with new software. Thus, the earphones emit a high-frequency signal and simultaneously analyze it with their microphones to ensure optimal operation.
In fact, despite the unusual sound, the AirPods Pro 2 are working properly, reports iPhones.ru.
