WhatsApp users should be careful when receiving messages from strangers. Especially dangerous are gifs, text files and messages containing links that can be harmful. This is reported by the DEITA news agency, citing the words of cyber security specialist Shamil Magomedov.
Opening such messages may install spyware on the user's device that allows access to other applications already installed on the device. The only way to protect against such risks is not to open suspicious messages and delete them by marking them as spam, the specialist said.
He emphasized that taking a radical approach to data protection is the only guarantee of protection against hacker attacks. WhatsApp users should be vigilant and not compromise their privacy.
