WhatsApp continues to enhance user privacy protection. For example, in the new beta version of the messenger for iOS with build number 24.18.10.70, there is a feature allowing the creation of a unique username and protection against unwanted messages with a PIN code. This was reported by the portal WABetaInfo.
Users will be able to choose a username instead of a phone number, making communication more secure and private. Additionally, there will be an option to add a PIN code to protect the username, providing an extra layer of security.
To contact a user who is not in your contact list, a special PIN code will be required. This will help prevent attempts by scammers and spammers. The new feature will be optional, allowing users to decide whether to use it based on their data protection needs.
The features are currently in development and will be available in a future WhatsApp update. The exact release date has not been announced.
