Elon Musk announced on Twitter the creation of a new company called xAI, which will engage in the development of artificial intelligence (AI).

"Announcing formation of xAI to understand reality," the billionaire and entrepreneur tweeted.

In April, the Financial Times, citing sources, had reported that Musk plans to launch his own AI startup.

According to this project's website, xAI is a separate company, but it will work closely with X Corp. (Twitter ), Tesla, and some others to make progress in their mission to "understand the true nature of the universe."

Also, according to the website, Musk's xAI team includes a number of AI experts who have worked on projects such as GPT-3.5 and GPT-4, AlphaStar, AlphaCode, Inception, and Minerva.

It is noted that a conversation will take place Friday in Twitter Spaces, during which users will be able to ask their questions to the xAI team.
