New Apple CEO to refresh top management team: What we know

Incoming Apple CEO John Ternus is likely to carry out personnel changes within the company's senior leadership in the coming years, Bloomberg reports. The changes would involve replacing a number of executives who have already reached the age of 60.

Who Might Be Replaced

According to the agency's assessment, over the next three years Ternus will need to renew key top managers responsible for hardware, marketing, retail, and personnel. Among the main candidates for departure are Senior Vice President of Retail Deirdre O'Brien, Head of Hardware Johnny Srouji, Senior Vice President of Marketing Greg Joswiak, and Vice President of Corporate Services Luca Maestri.

In addition to directly replacing executives, Ternus may redistribute some of their responsibilities. Certain functions currently concentrated at the senior management level are expected to be delegated to lower-level managers.

The Transition Period at Apple

John Ternus officially takes over as CEO on 1 September. The company's former head, Tim Cook, will remain at Apple as Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors. He is expected to continue handling regulatory engagement and advising the new leadership.
