Armenian startups on the road to Paris: Who will represent the country at VivaTech 2026

The Gateway to VivaTech 2026 event took place in Yerevan, bringing together representatives of Armenia’s technology community, international experts, and startups competing for the opportunity to participate in one of the world’s largest technology events—VivaTech, which will be held in June in Paris.

As part of the initiative, 15 Armenian startups were selected to present their projects to a jury composed of leading figures from the ecosystem. Following the pitch session, three companies earned the opportunity to travel to Paris with support from the European program EU4Innovation East. French Minister Delegate for European Affairs Benjamin Haddad took part in the award ceremony honoring the three winners of the Gateway to VivaTech 2026 competition.

Three Winners and Their Solutions

The winners of the competition were startups Medpe, Genovo Sciences, and TechSoup. After the results were announced, the teams presented their projects, briefly explaining the essence of their developments and their practical applications.

MedPair, a Franco-Armenian healthtech startup, develops artificial intelligence–based solutions to personalize interactions with patients. The platform allows data to be collected even before a doctor’s consultation using relevant questionnaires and to generate structured information for medical specialists.

Denovo Sciences, in turn, uses generative artificial intelligence to accelerate the drug development process. The company’s main goal is to help pharmaceutical corporations more quickly find solutions for treating diseases that currently remain incurable.

Tactun presented a robotics development—a control system that functions as a kind of link between software and physical devices. The technology can be applied in various sectors, including agriculture, construction, and service industries.

A European Perspective: Betting on Innovation and Boldness

The event was held at the office of PicsArt, which served as a platform for dialogue between entrepreneurs and international partners. It is in venues like this that new connections are formed, capable of bringing Armenian startups to global markets.

Speaking to participants, Benjamin Haddad congratulated all the teams that presented their projects, emphasizing the high level of talent, creativity, and energy demonstrated by Armenian entrepreneurs.

He noted that it was more important than ever to support entrepreneurs willing to take risks, build companies, sometimes make mistakes, and start again, adding that this process forms the foundation of a strong European economy and sovereignty.

The minister also stressed that the development of innovation is critically important for ensuring Europe’s independence in key sectors—from healthcare to defense and the space industry. He added that cooperation between France and Armenia in the technology sector inspires optimism and opens new prospects.

A Chance to Make a Name on the Global Stage

In conclusion, Benjamin Haddad expressed confidence that many of the startups presented would be able to establish themselves on the international stage and added that he would be pleased to meet them again at VivaTech in Paris this summer.

For their part, the organizers emphasized that events like this are becoming an important point of connection between Armenian, European, and French innovation ecosystems, helping to strengthen business ties and investment flows.
