'Vasilisa and Baba Yaga': Developers release teaser for new horror game

The Russian indie game studio Baba Yaga Games has shown the trailer of the game "Vasilisa and Baba Yaga" based on the fairy tale "Vasilisa the Beautiful".

The developers describe their project as “a scary story about a journey into the forbidden forest for magical powers.”

“We have been slowly working on this project for the last five years. Now, we feel we are finally ready to end it.”

Little is known about the game itself. According to available information, it will be a 2D adventure game with horror elements. The game's creators, Asya Yurina and Lyuba Nurmukhambetova, say it's a terrifying tale of a journey to the forbidden forest in search of magical power.

In Vasilisa and Baba Yaga, you play as Vasilisa, who is sent by her stepmother to fetch fire from Baba Yaga. You will also have the opportunity to play as a magical doll, which was given to Vasilisa by her late mother, and which can protect her from various dangers.

According to the authors, Vasilisa must overcome three obstacles: a river guarded by the Lord of the Waters, a swamp guarded by an evil spirit of the swamp, and a forest guarded by the Lord of the Woods. Reaching Baba Yaga, she must complete the tasks to receive the sacred fire to return home, where her main enemy – stepmother – will be waiting for her.

It will take about an hour and a half to complete the game.
