Telegram gets new features

The Telegram team has released a major update to the messenger, significantly improving the functionality of the built-in video player and adding several useful innovations. This is reported in the company's official blog.

Improved video player

Now the built-in Telegram player remembers the place where viewing was interrupted and automatically continues playback from the same moment the next time you launch it.

Links to specific moments in the video

Users can now share links to specific moments in the video even outside the messenger. To do this, click the "Share" button in the player and check the appropriate box to create a link to a specific fragment.

Setting up a video cover       

A function has appeared for setting any frame of the video as a cover. You can also edit the preview by adding text, stickers and other elements.

Other innovations

In addition to video player improvements, Telegram has also introduced other useful features:

• AI sticker search – the messenger can now find suitable stickers based on entered keywords.
• Bot recommendations – bot profiles now display a list of similar ones.
• Paid star reactions – channels can now leave special reactions to messages.

The update is already available to Android and iOS users.
