Lenovo has announced a unique new product — ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable, the world’s first mass-produced laptop with a vertically extendable screen. This was reported by The Verge.
Key features of the new product
- Expandable screen: The base 14-inch display can expand to 16.7 inches in vertical orientation. The screen can be expanded by pressing a button or using a gesture.
- Convenience and ergonomics: The vertical orientation of the screen helps improve posture and reduces strain on the neck and back during long-term work.
- Durability of the mechanism: According to Lenovo, the mechanism can withstand at least 30 thousand lid closures and openings and 20 thousand screen extensions.
- Screen specifications:
- OLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
- Peak brightness of 400 nits.
- Full coverage of the DCI-P3 color space.
In terms of performance, the laptop is equipped with the latest Intel Core Ultra processors, which provide:
- High performance.
- Energy efficiency.
- Support for the Copilot+PC standard.
In addition, the device supports Wi-Fi 7 and has Thunderbolt 4 ports, offering fast and modern connectivity options.
Price and availability
Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 Rollable will be available in the first quarter of 2025. The starting price will be $3,499. Buyers will be offered various options for RAM and internal storage capacity.
