14:18 26 August, 2024Former Apple sales specialist Tyler Morgan has warned iPhone users that the new iOS 18 operating system updates may slow down their devices, iDropNews reports.
Apple is pitching iOS 18 as cutting-edge software with artificial intelligence features, but Morgan says the OS is not designed for iPhone models released more than three years ago, such as the iPhone 13, iPhone 12, and iPhone 11.
In a TikTok video, Morgan explained that installing iOS 18 on older devices may result in a decrease in their performance. He noted that while the slowdown may not be immediately noticeable, it will become noticeable over time. Morgan emphasized that the new iOS is designed to work with the latest models, such as the iPhone 16 and iPhone 15 Pro, and on older devices, its use may lead to rapid battery degradation and a decrease in overall performance.
Morgan advised owners of older iPhone models who aren't eager to get the latest features to hold off on updating to iOS 18 if their devices are performing well.
