Google Pixel 9 Pro XL named the second best camera phone in the world: Which smartphone takes the top spot?

The new Google Pixel 9 Pro XL flagship smartphone took second place in the DxOMark camera rankings, scoring 158 points. This result allowed it to share the second line with the Honor Magic6 Pro, which also received 158 points. The leader remains the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra with 163 points.

DxOMark experts highly praised the Pixel 9 Pro XL for its excellent exposure and glare protection, neutral white balance and pleasant colors, fast autofocus, and a good texture-to-noise ratio in bright light. The smartphone also showed excellent detail when shooting in bright conditions and indoors, when zooming and macro shooting, as well as impressive video stabilization.

The Pixel 9 Pro XL's video performance was even better than the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra, though it was inferior to the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

However, experts also noted some shortcomings of the Pixel 9 Pro XL, including inconsistent dynamic range and slight exposure variation in videos, underexposure, inaccurate color reproduction and noise in low light, as well as artifacts in bokeh mode and differences in video sharpness while walking, especially indoors or in low light.
