Armenian Safe YOU app is winner of BOOST Women Innovators program

The Safe YOU app created by Armenian women was recognized as the winner of the BOOST Women Innovators program organized by the United Nations Development Program, according to the app's Facebook page.

"We’re so excited to finally announce that Safe YOU was chosen from among 40+ women change makers in Europe and Central Asia to receive an award to continue developing our Safe YOU solution. We were part of BOOST Women Innovators, an intensive 12-week online acceleration programme, powered by United Nations Development Programme - UNDP, for sustainable impact innovation. Thank you UNDP for running such a valuable program, and for seeing the potential of Safe YOU to make an impact on the lives of women and girls worldwide," the announcement reads.

Safe YOU is an innovative platform for women that aims to protect, support and empower women through community. It allows women and girls in emergencies to reach out for help. The app helps send free alerts with the user's geolocation data to pre-selected personal contacts, women's NGOs, government agencies or the police.

The app is available on Google Play and the App Store.
