8-inch 1080p LCD screen with 60 Hz frequency: Sony introduces the PlayStation Portal game console

Sony has unveiled its new portable gaming console. Previously known as Project Q, the novelty will appear on store shelves under the name Sony PlayStation Portal.

Sales of this game console will begin at the end of 2023. It will cost $200 in the US and €220 in Europe. The exact date for the start of pre-orders has not yet been announced.

The PlayStation Portal features an 8-inch 1080p LCD screen with a 60Hz screen refresh rate. It is designed for PlayStation Remote Play streaming games and connects to the PlayStation 5 via internal Wi-Fi. With PlayStation Portal, it is possible to play games installed on the PS5 console, including using the Dualsense controller.

The gamepad has a 3.5mm audio jack for headphones. PlayStation Portal also features key features of the DualSense controller, including haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

PlayStation Portal lacks support for virtual reality games that require PS VR2 glasses, and support for cloud streaming games streamed through PlayStation Plus Premium.
