Why hasn't humanity detected alien radio signals yet?

Humans have never had contact with aliens, at least there is no documented evidence of such contact. However, given the incredible size of the universe, it is quite difficult to believe that the Earth is the only habitable planet.

Why has humanity not yet detected radio signals from aliens, despite the fact that radio telescopes on Earth have been scanning the universe for 60 years in search of such signals?

Biophysicist Claudio Grimaldi, a researcher at the Laboratory of Statistical Biophysics at the Federal Polytechnic School of Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland, has given an interesting explanation for radio silence.

"We've only been searching for 60 years," he said, "and Earth might just be in a bubble that doesn't have radio waves emitted by alien life."

With colleagues, he created a statistical model based on studies of spongy materials with pores. Two assumptions were included in the main conditions for solving the problem.

Within this statistical model, Earth and alien radio transmitters are placed in the "pores" of a conditional sponge, after which optimistic and pessimistic predictions are constructed. According to optimistic predictions, it will take at least another 60 years to receive a radio signal from aliens. And in the worst case, we have to wait at least 2000 years for such a signal. These calculations can only be correct if such a signal really exists in the Milky Way. In addition, in both cases it would be necessary to point the radio telescope in the right direction.

"To me, this hypothesis seems less extreme than the assumption that we are constantly bombarded with signals from all sides, but for some reason we cannot detect them," said Claudio Grimaldi.

It should be understood that the solution of this statistical problem depends on the initial conditions. If the conditions change, the result will also differ from the above.
