Team's new initiative: We will install 20 fast charging stations, electric cars will be charged in 40 minutes

The Team Group of Companies will soon enter the market of electric vehicle charging stations, as well as launch the Team Pay electronic payment calculation program. Hayk Yesayan, co-president of the Team Group of Companies, told reporters about this during the DigiTec 2022 high-tech conference in Armenia’s capital Yerevan.

"As an innovation, we have introduced the charging of electric car batteries where we had a unique approach. With the use of new technologies, the chargers will identify the cars and the charging of the cars will be automatically connected; this will be the first time in Armenia. More than 20 high-capacity charging equipment (fast charger) will be installed so that it can charge any car in 40 minutes. Also, more than 50 ordinary 220-volt charging devices will be installed," Yesayan said.

According to him, all the solutions presented by them are local.

"Yes, it is difficult for us to compete with big global companies in the local market because their resources are not for 3-million markets, but for 100-, 300- or even 500-million markets. We are trying to compete with the big giants in the same market with a smaller team, more efficiently in a market of 3 million people; but it works. I'm very happy that we have a platform where these companies can show their solutions. Unfortunately, we do not have that perception in the public to make use of Armenian solutions, to give them the opportunity to develop, enter other countries. Without that support, it will be harder for us to compete. All companies need the public's help in that regard," he said.

Yesayan emphasized that now they are moving towards a greener future.

"We are building a 4.8-megawatt solar [power] plant, installing these batteries, and trying to charge cars with them. Car emissions are decreasing. And the technological solution differs in that it is all automated, more convenient for a person. Here it is only a question of purchasing power that enables people to use such services. And there is the opposite when people get the service with cheaper and optimal solutions," he said.
