API ChatGPT, API Whisper: OpenAI introduces new tools for developers

OpenAI, the company behind the ChatGPT chatbot so popular today, has released API ChatGPT and API Whisper. With these new APIs—application programming interfaces—, developers can integrate ChatGPT and Whisper language models into their apps and other products.

For developers, ChatGPT is available for $0.002 per 1,000 characters, while Whisper costs $0.006 per minute.

Many market leaders are already actively implementing OpenAI language models in their products. For example, the photo and video sharing platform Snapchat recently launched a My AI feature based on ChatGPT. True, for now it's only available with a Snapchat+ subscription for $4 a month.

AI based on the ChatGPT chatbot has also been implemented in the updated version of the Bing search engine, as well as in the taskbar of the updated Windows 11 operating system.

AI has also been integrated into Instacart and Shopify apps, and the language learning app Speak recently got the feature based on Whisper. It is an AI speech-to-text tool capable of understanding 99 languages.
