Nvidia graphics cards have new function: They can now improve YouTube videos’ quality

March 2, 2023  15:05

The new driver for Nvidia GeForce RTX graphics cards adds the RTX Video Super Resolution function to the card, which, using AI algorithms, can increase video quality up to 4K in real time.

According to WccfTech magazine, the RTX Video Super Resolution can work both offline and online videos in Google Chrome and Edge browsers.

With this feature, you can improve the quality of almost any YouTube video that is played in the abovementioned browsers.

However, it is worth noting that the AI cannot improve video quality if its original resolution is lower than 360p.

According to the authors of WccfTech, this new feature can work also on video services such as Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, YouTubeTV, Hulu, and Twitch.

But for now, the RTX Video Super Resolution only works on GeForce RTX 30 and 40 series graphics cards.

In the future, however, this function could be available for other Nvidia video cards as well.
