Motorola Introduces New moto watch ultra Smartwatch Powered by Personal AI

September 7, 2026  18:01

Motorola has introduced the new moto watch ultra smartwatch, making it part of the Lenovo and Motorola personal artificial intelligence ecosystem. The gadget is designed not only to track user activity, but also to interact with other devices and services.

First Motorola Watch with Qira

The key feature of the moto watch ultra is support for Lenovo and Motorola Qira—a personal AI system that is gradually expanding across the company’s smartphones, computers, and other devices. The moto watch ultra has become Motorola's first wearable device to support Qira. Lenovo's idea is to ensure that personal AI is not tied to a single gadget, but can work across multiple devices simultaneously, accompanying the user throughout the day. The company is also expanding Qira’s capabilities beyond its own ecosystem. In supported scenarios, the system will be able to interact with services such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Contacts, Slack, Outlook Mail, and Outlook Calendar.

Emphasis on Health and Autonomy

The second focal point of the moto watch ultra is health and physical activity. The watch integrates fitness and wellness features from Polar, which allow users to track various workout metrics and body conditions. The device runs on Wear OS by Google and supports LTE via eSIM. This allows the watch to be used more independently from a smartphone in situations where the user needs direct connectivity from the wearable device. In this way, Motorola is attempting to combine several areas into a single gadget—activity monitoring, connectivity, app access, and interaction with personal AI.

The Watch Becomes Part of the Ecosystem

The presentation of the moto watch ultra reflects Lenovo’s broader strategy, which the company calls Hybrid AI. Its essence lies in distributing AI functions across devices, local computing, and cloud infrastructure. In the case of the moto watch ultra, this means that the watch is viewed not as a standalone fitness gadget, but as another access point to a personal digital assistant. At the same time, Lenovo aims to allow users to transition seamlessly between a smartphone, computer, tablet, or watch without altering their accustomed AI workflow.
