Samsung unveils monitor with record-breaking 1100 Hz refresh rate

At the Gamescom gaming expo, Samsung unveiled an updated version of its Odyssey G6 gaming monitor. The G60H model features a refresh rate of 1100 Hz—a figure the company calls a world record for monitors. The Verge reports.

What the New Odyssey G6 Can Do

The monitor comes with an IPS panel and a 1 ms response time. The maximum 1100 Hz refresh rate is available at Full HD resolution. In its native 1440p mode, the screen runs at 600 Hz. Samsung had previously quoted a figure of 1040 Hz for this model, but managed to push it even higher in time for the show.

Such specifications are primarily aimed at esports and enthusiasts who demand the most responsive image possible, where every millisecond counts.

Samsung plans to begin global sales of the Odyssey G6 before the end of 2026. The exact release date and price have not yet been disclosed.

New OLED Models in the Odyssey Lineup

Alongside the refresh-rate record-breaker, Samsung also showed updated OLED monitors—the Odyssey G9, G8, and G7—scheduled for release in 2027.

The 49-inch Odyssey OLED G9 will feature a resolution of 5120×1440 pixels at 360 Hz. In 2560×720 mode, the refresh rate can climb to 720 Hz. The response time is rated at 0.03 ms, with peak brightness up to 1300 nits.

The 32-inch OLED G8 will offer several modes: 4K at 360 Hz, QHD at 520 Hz, and Full HD at 680 Hz.

The Odyssey OLED G7, according to the company, will be the first 42-inch curved OLED monitor with a 16:9 aspect ratio. It will feature 4K resolution, a 165 Hz refresh rate, and a 1000R curvature.

Pricing and exact release dates for these models have yet to be announced.
