Xiaomi unveils its first AI-powered clip-on “earring” earbuds

Xiaomi has entered the open-ear audio market with the introduction of the Xiaomi Clip — lightweight clip-on earbuds that attach to the ear without blocking the ear canal. These are the company’s first “earring-style” earbuds.

The new device is aimed at users who want to listen to music or podcasts while still remaining aware of their surroundings. Thanks to the open-ear design, external sounds remain clearly audible, making the earbuds especially convenient for outdoor use, running, or office environments.

Comfort and design

The Xiaomi Clip features titanium memory-wire construction designed to provide both a secure and comfortable fit. Each earbud weighs just 5.5 grams, making them barely noticeable during extended wear.

Sound and call quality

The earbuds are equipped with 11 mm dynamic drivers. They support the modern LHDC 5.0 audio codec, which delivers high-quality wireless sound transmission.

For voice calls, the earbuds use a three-microphone setup along with a bone-conduction sensor that improves voice pickup even in noisy environments.

Protection and battery life

The Xiaomi Clip carries an IP57 rating for dust and water resistance, one of the stronger protection levels in its category.

Battery life is also impressive: up to 9 hours on a single charge and up to 38 hours when used with the charging case.

Smart AI features

Xiaomi placed particular emphasis on artificial intelligence capabilities. The earbuds support:

• real-time speech translation in 21 languages;
• automatic text summaries of conversations through the XiaoAI assistant.

The earbuds are also integrated with Apple’s Find My service, allowing users to quickly locate them if they are lost.

Pricing and colors

The Xiaomi Clip has already gone on sale in China in four colors: black, white, gold, and pink. Pricing starts at 799 yuan, or roughly $120.
