Twitter to have more expensive subscription that disables ads

January 23, 2023  10:16

Twitter will have a more expensive subscription with a noticeable advantage: there will be no ads in it. Elon Musk, the head of the company, announced this on Twitter.

"Also, there will be a higher priced subscription that allows zero ads," he wrote.

With this post, Musk responded to his own previous post, in which he said that Twitter's ads have become too large and users are being shown them too often. Also, he informed that specialists were working on resolving this problem, and the result may appear within a few weeks.

There is no word yet on how much the new subscription will cost. This social media platform currently has a Twitter Blue subscription, which costs $8 per month—but $11 on iOS—and doesn't disable ads, but does provide a blue checkmark and several bonus features, including an edit button and improved visibility.

In a tweet with followers, Musk confirmed as well that Twitter is also considering creating a fund to help support creators whose interesting content draws people to this social media platform.
