Some CNET financial articles written by artificial intelligence since November 2022, none of readers guesses

The popular website CNET appears to be using artificial intelligence (AI) to write some articles on financial topics.

According to Futurism.com, from November 2022, some articles on this website were written using "automation technology." The text, however, was later checked and corrected by people.

There was no official announcement about the start of using AI on the website. Online marketer Gael Breton was the first to notice the AI-written message that no one else was paying attention to, and wrote about it on Twitter.

As it turns out, the AI-written articles on the aforesaid website are published by an author named CNET Money Staff and cover a wide range of topics, such as "What is Zelle and How Does It Work?" "What is Compound Interest?" etc. If you click on the author's name on the website, you will know that the article was created by AI and then edited by humans.

The website also notes that CNET Money Staff joined the website on October 27, 2022 and has written 78 articles to date—and all perfectly optimized for search engines. At the same time, CNET has not yet commented on this information, so it is not known which AI program is used and how many editors worked on the articles it wrote.

But CNET isn't the first magazine to use AI. For example, the Associated Press news agency has been using AI for some assignments since 2015.
