WhatsApp to stop working on dozens of smartphones from December 31: Check to see if yours is on list

Starting December 31, the messenger WhatsApp will stop supporting 49 older smartphones. These are models released at least several years ago, but some people are still using them.

On Oct. 24, WhatsApp also stopped working on iPhones with iOS 10 and 11. In the future, the list of unsupported operating systems will gradually expand.

Before WhatsApp stops functioning, users of the listed smartphones will receive several notifications about the need to update the operating system or the device itself.

WhatsApp recently introduced many new features, including Picture-in-Picture for video calls, Message Yourself, Call Links and Communities. There is also a feature that allows you to use a single account on multiple smartphones, the ability to conduct surveys in private chats, as well as the ability to set a virtual avatar and speed up voice messages by 1.5 and 2 times.
