Robot vacuum cleaner escaped from home after powerful earthquake

Residents of one of the districts of California were amused by a robot vacuum cleaner roaming the streets after the earthquake. This is reported by ABC News on social network X.

“Residents of a Northern California neighborhood laughed heartily after Thursday's powerful earthquake: a robot vacuum cleaner, which apparently was disconnected from its base, roamed the streets,” the publication said.

Network users jokingly suggested that a law should be introduced that would oblige vacuum cleaner owners to walk them on a leash, and that in the case of earthquakes, even appliances have an instinct for self-preservation.

“He always wanted to be a janitor,” joked one user.

It is assumed that the Americans who ran out of the house did not lock the door, causing the vacuum cleaner to leave the room and wander the streets in search of a base to recharge.

The earthquake with a magnitude of 7.0 was recorded on December 5 in the U.S. state of California. The epicenter was located 56 km south-west of the city of Fortuna, the origin of the earthquake was at a depth of 14 km.
